Non-Verbal Communication  is Communication without the use of written or spoken words, like body movements, voice patterns, time, touch etc.

Unlike Verbal Communication which is Conscious and Deliberate, Non-Verbal Communication is Instinctive and Spontaneous.

 According to Albert Mehabian : Human Messages are Conveyed by:
[Verbal = 7%; Vocal = 38% and Non Verbal = 55% - 65%] This Signifies the pivotal role played by Non Verbal Communication.

Non-Verbal Communication: Classifications

Non-Verbal Communication may Chiefly be Categories into 04 Parts:

 
A) Kinesics :

 A.i. Facial Expressions & Eye,
A.ii. Gestures [Movement of Body Parts]

Aiii. Postures [Posture and Body Shapes Such as Leaning Forward, Leaning Backward, Leaning Down, Nail Biting e.t.c. ] &

A.iv. Physical Appearance : Clothing, Jewelry e.t.c.

  

B. Proxemics :

In Proxemics Distance Distinguishes and Deciphers Meaning: (There are 04 indicators of Proxemics)
B.i. Intimate 

[Physical Context - to - 1.5 Feet],
 

B.ii. Personal 

[1.5 Feet - to - 04 Feet],
 

B.iii. Social 

[04 Feet - to - 12 Feet] and
 

B.iv. Public 

[12 Feet - to - Range of Sight & Hearing]

C. Para-language :

C.i. The Language Depending on Voice Quality, Volume, Speech Rate, Pitch, Manner of Speaking (Beyond the Spoken Words)

C.ii. Para-language analysis concentration is more on "How...?" than "What...?"

C.iii. Vocalization: Shaky Voice-

Nervousness; Broken Voice- Lack of Preparation; Clear Voice-Confidence.

D. Physical Context:

D.i. Environment Such as Room Design, Furniture, Decoration, Color, Building & Its Decoration
